Sunglass Care
What are some tips for properly caring for sunglasses?
Designer sunglasses are always a good investment, sometimes they may vary in turns of materials, lenses treatments and other applications; we recommend taking care of your sunglasses so that they last.
- Preserve them well. Your designer sunglasses are not only a fashion statement, but also a shield for your eyes from harmful UV rays. To keep them in good condition, you should always store them in a secure place when you are not using them. The best way to do this is to use the original case that came with them. This will protect them from dust, scratches, and bending.
- Avoid exposing your sunglasses to extreme heat. Extreme heat can ruin the plastic frames of your sunglasses and make the lenses shatter. You should not keep them in a hot car or under direct sunlight in the summer. If you have metal frames, they can get very hot if exposed to sunlight and burn you when you wear them.
- Treat your sunglasses with care. Your sunglasses require careful handling when you wear them or take them off to prevent loosening or breaking the arms. You should also place your sunglasses with the lenses facing up on surfaces to avoid scratches on them. When you are not wearing them, keep your frames in a hard case to protect them from harm.
- Avoid putting your sunglasses on your head. Putting your sunglasses on your head may seem stylish and handy when not in use; however, it can make the screws loose and ruin the nose pads.
- Wash your sunglasses the right way. Use a microfiber cloth and the appropriate cleaning solution to wash your sunglasses. Never use your shirt or paper towels to wipe the lenses, as this can make tiny scratches and transfer more dirt to the lenses.
Remember to wipe the sides of the frames and nose pads too. This will keep them from sliding down your face and keep them clean.
